L’installation cinétique Resistir al colapso déploie un environnement immersif où matière, air, lumière et son entrent en relation dans une lente dérive vers un état de suspension. Des formes végétales recueillies sur le territoire d’accueil, puis métallisées, sont suspendues dans l’espace et animées de mouvements très lents, parfois presque imperceptibles. Leur aspect métallique fait coexister organicité et industrie, fragilité et résistance, des tensions qui traversent l’ensemble de la recherche.
Leur déplacement évoque à la fois une envolée d’oiseaux et le déploiement d’un dessin à l’encre, comme si un paysage fragile se traçait et se transformait en temps réel. La lumière prolonge ces mouvements par des ombres instables, tandis que le son discret et enveloppant du vent agit comme une respiration. L’ensemble sollicite une attention soutenue aux transformations infimes qui parcourent l’espace et inscrit la contemplation dans la durée.
Cette installation constitue l’une des trois formes autonomes développées dans le cadre du projet de recherche-création Resistir al colapso, aux côtés d’une performance audiovisuelle et d’une vidéo d’art. Le projet explore la possibilité d’états de refuge face aux risques d’effondrement liés aux crises contemporaines. Ces états de refuge sont envisagés comme des espaces mentaux et sensibles où le ralentissement actif, la respiration de la pensée et l’attention permettent momentanément de déplacer notre rapport à l’urgence et à la saturation.
Parmi les trois mouvements qui structurent la recherche, Perturbation | Passage | Refuge, l’installation explore plus spécifiquement le mouvement Refuge. Celui-ci prend ici la forme d’un état fragile et temporaire de suspension, de ralentissement actif et d’attention. Par les déplacements lents des végétaux, les variations de lumière, la circulation de l’air et la présence enveloppante du son, l’œuvre ouvre un temps où porter autrement attention à ce qui nous entoure et envisager une manière de tenir face aux possibilités d’effondrement.

La versión instalación de Resistir al colapso despliega un entorno inmersivo donde la materia, el aire y la luz entran en relación, acompañando una lenta deriva hacia un estado de refugio.
En el espacio, formas vegetales metálicas se encuentran suspendidas y son puestas en movimiento por la circulación del aire de un ventilador. Su desplazamiento compone una materia móvil que evoca tanto una bandada de aves en vuelo como el despliegue de un dibujo en tinta, como si un paisaje frágil se trazara y transformara en tiempo real. La luz acentúa estos movimientos al proyectar sombras inestables, prolongando las formas en el espacio y contribuyendo a una sensación de ligereza y suspensión.
Los vegetales, provenientes tanto de referentes quebequenses como mexicanos, se encuentran en una misma materialidad. Su transposición a una apariencia metálica sitúa la instalación en una tensión entre organicidad e industria, en eco con la memoria del Parque Fundidora, antigua fundidora en el corazón de Monterrey. La obra deja entrever una reflexión sobre las condiciones contemporáneas de lo vivo en contextos urbanos: aquello que resiste, aquello que se transforma, aquello que persiste pese a la presión, como un intento de sostenerse, de no ceder frente a la posibilidad del colapso.
Esta materialidad también se arraiga en los relatos recogidos a través de numerosas conversaciones colectivas e individuales, donde el metal y lo vegetal aparecen como elementos fundamentales en la manera en que los habitantes piensan su relación con el territorio — entre arraigo, memoria y transformación.
El sonido del viento, discreto y envolvente, actúa como una respiración. Acompaña los micro-movimientos de la instalación y participa en la creación de un espacio perceptivo donde algo circula, se desplaza y late suavemente.
El conjunto compone un espacio suspendido, atravesado por una memoria en movimiento, donde el refugio no aparece como un lugar fijo, sino como un estado frágil, un retiro necesario para resistir, momentáneamente, al colapso.

The installation version of Resistir al colapso unfolds as an immersive environment where matter, air and light enter into relation, accompanying a slow drift toward a state of refuge.
Within the space, metallic vegetal forms are suspended and set into motion by the circulation of air from a fan. Their movement composes a shifting materiality, evoking both a flock of birds in flight and the unfolding of an ink drawing, as though a fragile landscape were being traced and transformed in real time. Light accentuates these movements by projecting unstable shadows, extending the forms throughout the space and contributing to a sensation of lightness and suspension.
The vegetal elements, drawn from both Québecois and Mexican references, converge within a shared materiality. Their transposition into a metallic appearance situates the installation within a tension between organicity and industry, echoing the memory of Parque Fundidora, the former steel foundry at the heart of Monterrey. In filigree, the work evokes a reflection on contemporary conditions of the living within urban environments — what resists, what transforms, what persists despite constraint — as an attempt to hold together, not to yield before the possibility of collapse.
This materiality is also rooted in stories gathered through numerous collective and individual discussions, where metal and vegetation emerged as fundamental elements in how inhabitants conceive their relationship to the territory — between rootedness, memory and transformation.
The sound of the wind, discreet and enveloping, acts like a breath. It accompanies the installation’s micro-movements and contributes to the creation of a perceptual space in which something circulates, shifts and pulses softly.
The whole composes a suspended space, traversed by a moving memory, where refuge appears not as a fixed place, but as a fragile state — a necessary withdrawal in order to resist, momentarily, collapse.
